Arts, dance, poetry, travel, history, identity, community, health and wellbeing... when it all comes together
We had an exhilarating year of travel, historical exploration and diverse creative practices in 2018.
We travelled to Jamaica as part of the collaborative team from 1418 Now, the British Council and BBC, to film Caribbean diaspora poets exploring the role of their ancestors in World War 1.
We collaborated with JoinedUp Dance Company, BBC Contains Strong Language Festival and the renowned poet Simon Armitage, to create a dance and video-art interpretation of Simon's collection of WW1 poems STILL.
We continued to support health and wellbeing initiatives in communities, working with Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Practice for their events and social media, as well as grassroots movements promoting social prescribing and people powered health.
In 2019 we will continue to be part of the BBC Contains Strong Language filmmaking team as they prepare for their biggest festival to date in September, as well as other BBC 1Xtra projects throughout the year.
We will partner again with JoinedUp Dance company to create a series of video art and dance performances.
We are supporting through film, a major Arts Council bid for Rochdale - Creative Places and People - which could transform and ignite the area with greater community access to arts, creativity and health initiatives.
We will be creating promos and a documentary for the NHS in Greater Manchester to showcase the amazing work and progress areas have made in social prescribing initiatives, and community arts, health and wellbeing activity.
