Elevate Your Story, Amplify Your Impact

BRAVE DAY HELP CHANGE-MAKERS AND PURPOSE-LED EDUCATORS GROW THEIR VISIBILITY AND IMPACT, THROUGH compelling and courageous DIGITAL MEDIA STORYTELLING.

our work

Below is a selection of video content we have created for our clients and collaborative partners, including documentaries, promotional case studies, educational materials, and motion visual art projections.

Many of the projects we capture and contribute to are agents of change through combining education with creativity and the arts. They often include elements and themes of mixed media, creative writing and poetry, arts projections, theatre, performance, movement and dance, and audio soundscapes.

Brave Day worked collaboratively with RFK Human Rights UK for over a year 2021-2022 to help promote the work they do with schools and communities across the UK, for content on their website and for the Ripples of Hope Festival in @HOME Manchester.

Crossing The Line is written by Parvez Qadir and produced by Breaking Barriers CIC. The promo we produced shows the impact of this touring monologue across 55 primary schools in Greater Manchester to educate children about child criminal exploitation.

BBC Contains Strong Language Festival have been collaborative partners with Brave Day since its launch at Hull City of Culture in 2017. Now in its 7th year, we continue to support with video content for the festival and promotional highlights.

Unwritten Poems is a short film documenting a project commissioned by BBC Contains Strong Language Festival 2018. The project, led by poet and writer, Karen McCarthy Woolf, invited Caribbean and diaspora poets to respond to the Caribbean engagement in the First World War and uncover the hidden histories. The project included travel to the Calabash Literary Festival in Jamaica, to collaborate in research and the collection of archive material, to re-interpret these forgotten histories for the modern day audience.

Women of Words is a short film documenting one of the workshops by the Hull-based, women’s poetry and creative writing group. The established group became part of a commission by BBC Contains Strong Festival in Hull 2017, with guest poet and facilitator, Kate Fox. Final poetry performances were showcased on stage at the festival.

Stories We Tell by Breaking Barriers CIC, is a collaborative mixed media project sharing stories from the diverse community of Deeplish, Rochdale. A 20 minute binaural audio walking tour, with moving image video projection elements by Brave Day, appearing unexpectedly in shops, windows and playgrounds.

This Is Us is a year long educational project commissioned by RFK Human Rights UK. Breaking Barriers and Brave Day collaborated on creative workshop sessions at Falinge Park High School, to document the experience and create a film for Ripples of Hope Festival @HOME.

The Roots Programme is a pioneering educational initiative bringing together young people and adults from diverse background to find common ground, through connection, compassion and curiosity. Brave Day filmed the sessions to create this promotional film.

Heart of Pendle is a film capturing a poetry, creative writing, and nature walking project for south Asian women in the Pendle, Lancashire - commissioned by In-situ CIC. The project was facilitated by award-winning poet and writer, Hafsah Aneela Bashir, who led the women through a series of workshops and nature walks to help them explore their stories through writing reflections.

TRIO - a multi-disciplinary arts project by JoinedUp Dance Company. Trio is a culmination of the 3 pieces of work created in 2017, 2018 and 2019 as part of the BBC Contains Strong Language Festival.
